PG Tips
How can PG Tips advertise that they are so into supporting the Rain Forest Alliance, when only 50% of the Tea is sourced from certified content. I wonder if consumers really realised this, whether would think that PG Tips are really just doing this as a marketing trick?

If they placed as much emphasis showing that they only source 50%, as they do on the fact that they the fact they are supporting the Rain Forest Alliance, consumers might not think differently.

It’s really crazy that they can do this – it’s a bit like saying something is Organic, but in the small print it says, “it’s only Organic, but only for half the time,” Pure marketing spin…

the law should change to only allow such claims if only 100% sourced from certified content and not partly

the law should change to only allow such claims if only 100% sourced from certified content and not partly – I would not say that they are total sinner because at least they are making an effort to source 50%…they will be total sinners if they were sourcing for example 5%

Sorry I disagree on this one, as I think by PG tips using the logo, they have done more for awareness of Rainforest Aliance than anyone else, they do also state the amount they are using.

I agree that PG have done a good job on promoting the Rain Forest alliance, however – it has to be wrong that they are only sourcing about 50% of their tea that way and still make such a big deal about it. They could also say:
“50% of our Tea is NOT from rain forest alliance approve plantations.” But I think that’s unlikely!

I don’t admire PG Tips for promoting the Rainforet Alliance in this way – a total lack of transparency. Deceiptful too

They should show the percentage clearly at least, that is deceitful.

Why can’t they just be honest? 50% sourced via Rainforest Alliance is better than none.
