‘Yorkshire Produce’

Posted in Uncategorized by collidog1

i’ve recentley seen in local supermarkets products branded as from yorkshire. Who does the auditing for traceability on these items as with some of them the only thing yorkshire about them is where they were put into the packet!!!!!

Meridian Foods ‘Natural’ range

Posted in Store cupboard ingredients, Uncategorized by BobD

This range of foods are allegedly ‘Natural’; however, they contain ’sulphur dioxide’ and ‘citric acid’, neither of which can be claimed to be natural.

e.g. the ingredients for Morello Cherry ‘Natural’ Spread are as follows:

Grape Juice (60%) [Contains Preservative (Sulphur Dioxide)], Morello Cherries (37%), Gelling Agent (Citrus Pectin), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid)

Tesco’s Farmhouse mixed vegetables

Tesco's Farmhouse mixed vegetables

Tesco's Farmhouse mixed vegetables

Tesco’s Farmhouse mixed vegetables, what the devil does that mean – ‘Farmhouse’ are you kidding Mr Tesco? Are you suggesting that these vegetables have been prepared in a ‘Farmhouse’, fairly unlikely I would suggest. This is simply a case of Tesco’s trying to look more country-fied when really these are just regular vegetables from a farm. Come on Tesco’s you can do better than this!
